Job Summary:

Growing 145 Repair Station located at Allegheny Country Airport is seeking an experienced Chief Inspector. The Chief Inspector will ensure that all work performed on Aircraft and its components comply with Repair Station, Manufactures, Customer, FAR and airworthiness requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure each air carrier’s RII procedure is followed and that inspectors assigned RII responsibilities for the air carrier are properly qualified, trained, and authorized, reference RSM.
• Ensure that inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used to perform inspections are labeled correctly and in proper working order.
• Ascertain qualifications of all inspection employees prior to work assignment through tests and evaluation of their previous experience
• Ensure personnel have appropriate knowledge or are properly trained prior to assigning inspection tasks.
• Determining whether an article should be reported under the Suspected Unapproved Parts program and for filing reports under that program, reference RSM.
• Ensure that the maintenance data required to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on the articles under the repair station’s certificate are issued to technicians and inspectors, reference RSM.
• Ensure the technical data supporting major repairs and alterations is FAA-approved, reference RSM.
• Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft.
• Ensure that when an FAA Form 337 is completed for a major alteration, a copy is forwarded to Oklahoma City within forty-eight (48) hours of approving the article for return to service, reference RSM.
• Ensure the proper and timely filing of reports on serious failures, malfunctions, or defects (see, paragraph.
• Determine whether incidents or alleged non-compliance with the regulation should be reported to the FAA under the Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program described in AC 00-58a, as revised, reference RSM.
• Work order review.

• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education and Experience:

• Aircraft inspection experience in a production line/repair station environment.
• Must be well versed in working to Maintenance/Repair manuals and FAR guidelines.
• Must have an A&P License.
• IA preferred but not required.
• Must have hands on Aircraft experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl up to 60% of the time.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to lift or move 75 pounds.
• Must be able to see to perform work and to see approaching vehicles, aircraft, and machinery.
